We are asking families to help us raise a safety concern about a classroom at Sanchez.
The classroom is approximately 26' × 25.5' (663 sq. ft.) and currently has 33 students, one teacher, and one nurse aide. With desks, chairs, and other required equipment, the pathways through the classroom are limited and narrow.
Our concern is simple: Would everyone in the classroom—including students or staff who may need assistance—be able to safely and quickly exit in an emergency?
We are asking the appropriate officials to inspect the classroom and determine whether the current occupancy and layout meet applicable health, safety, and fire requirements.
Email equity@sfusd.edu and copy the principal at marina@sfusd.edu. Ask that your message be treated as a Williams complaint regarding an urgent facility safety concern.

I am writing to file a Williams complaint regarding a health and safety concern at Sanchez Elementary.
One classroom, approximately 26' × 25.5' (663 sq. ft.), currently serves 33 students, one teacher, and one nurse aide (35 occupants). I am concerned that the number of occupants may create unsafe conditions related to classroom capacity, available space, and emergency egress.
Please:
Accept this as a Williams complaint;
Determine the classroom's approved occupant load and applicable capacity and emergency egress requirements; and
Coordinate with the San Francisco Fire Department Bureau of Fire Prevention as appropriate for evaluation of the fire/life-safety concerns.
Please confirm receipt and provide a complaint/reference number and information about the review.
